ACADEMICS & CAREER EXPLORATION
Bridges to Adulthood Program students work hard to increase their skills in various areas including: literacy and writing, purchasing and money, and reading for purpose and pleasure.
Additionally, students work on their expressive and receptive communication skills through the use of mock interviews and telephone conversations with peers. The use of assistive technology devices are also incorporated into the program, based on individual needs. Devices include Go-Talks, Ipads, and various apps to asssist students in their communication needs.
Students learn job skills at various employment locations within the community. Students are evaluated and receive feedback on their job performance. Students have the opportunity to earn their food handler's permit. Within the program, students receive a paycheck.

INDEPENDENT LIVING SKILLS
Bridges to Adulthood Program students are taught valuable strategies to enchance their independent living skills in various functional life skills areas including: budgeting, menu preparation and grocery shopping, kitchen safety and cooking, household cleaning and basic management, and personal care and hygiene. These skills are taught on site within a mock apartment setting.
In addition, students are assessed to receive instruction on using public transportation (RTA). These skills are essential in increasing independence, and engaging in community activities.

SOCIAL & RECREATIONAL SKILLS
​Bridges to Adulthood Program students have the opportunity to participate in various social and recreational activities throughout the year. Some of these formal activities include:

In the area of recreation, students workout at Fitness 19, and learn sports and fitness skills such as basketball, soccer, tennis, volleyball, and zumba.
